Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026 · Applies to the TrueSold Chrome extension and truesold.co.uk
1. Who we are
TrueSold is operated by Pricing Logic Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: support@truesold.co.uk.
2. What the extension does with data
Data that stays on your device
- Sold prices and Best-Offer data — the extension reads eBay listing and search pages you're viewing, in your own browser, using your own signed-in session, and computes comps, medians and true sold prices entirely client-side. This page content is never transmitted to our servers.
- Seller and buyer identities are never captured — we deliberately never parse, return or store eBay seller usernames or masked buyer IDs (e.g. "a***e"). They are discarded at parse time and never touch storage of any kind, local or remote.
- Settings and saved searches (free tier) — stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local) and never transmitted to us.
Data we process on our servers
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and a unique account ID | When you sign in (via Clerk) | To operate your account and apply your Pro entitlement |
| Premium-view / feature-usage count per month | When you use a metered Pro feature | To meter usage and enforce your plan (Clerk token verified server-side) |
| Subscription status and Stripe customer reference | If you subscribe to Pro | To grant and manage your Pro entitlement |
3. What we do NOT collect
- No eBay seller usernames or buyer IDs — ever, under any circumstances.
- No card or bank details — payment is handled entirely by Stripe; card data goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers.
- No browsing history — the extension's content script runs only on ebay.co.uk listing and search pages, purely to power the sold-data panel on the page you have open.
- No bulk export, no CSV, no redistribution of eBay data.
- No advertising identifiers, no data sales, no third-party analytics or tracking cookies on this website.
4. Chrome permissions, explained
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
storage | Saving your settings, saved searches and preferences on your device |
activeTab / scripting | Injecting the Sold Data panel on the eBay page you're viewing |
identity | Running the sign-in window (Chrome's secure auth flow), Pro only |
| Host access to ebay.co.uk | Reading listing and search page content to compute sold prices, in your own session |
| Host access to api.truesold.co.uk | Talking to our own backend for sign-in, entitlement checks and alert delivery (Pro only) |
5. Our processors
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the product, under their own GDPR-compliant terms:
- Clerk (clerk.com) — sign-in and account management (processes your email)
- Stripe (stripe.com) — payments and subscription billing
- Cloudflare — hosting for our backend and this website (UK/EU edge infrastructure)
No eBay listing or sold-price data is ever sent to any of the above — it stays in your browser.
6. Retention
- Account data: kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Usage counts: rolling monthly counters, retained up to 24 months for support and fraud prevention.
- Local data on your device: yours — clear it anytime by removing the extension or clearing its storage.
7. Your rights (UK & EU GDPR)
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to or restrict processing; and request portability. Email support@truesold.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
8. Children
The service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we'll update this page and the "last updated" date, and flag significant changes in the extension. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
